Early Admission to Kindergarten (EAK) Program

The EAK Program provides young learners with successful, child-centered, early-kindergarten experiences which help develop positive attitudes toward learning and to promote social and emotional growth. It is designed for children who will be five years of age by March 15, 2011, and are currently not enrolled in kindergarten. The program is open to all eligible students living in the community. Participation is voluntary and not designed to take the place of kindergarten. Students participating in the EAK Program will enroll in kindergarten in August of the following school year.

Enrollment
Enrollment is limited to 25 students per class. Priority will be given to older students. EAK begins January 10, 2011, and continues through June 21, 2011. The Cajon Valley Union School District calendar will be followed (see District Calendar posted on the Home Page of this website).

Registration
Registration packets and information will be available in each elementary school office beginning November 1, 2010. Completed registration packets are due to the school office or the Educational Services Department, located at the District office, by December 1, 2010.

Intra-District Form
Students living in another school attendance area within the Cajon Valley Union School district's boundaries are required to complete the "School Attendance Form" included in the EAK registration packet.

Inter-District Form
Students living in a neighboring district's attendance area must obtain an inter-district form from the resident district.
