Emergency Operations Plan

Cajon Valley Union School District has developed an Emergency Operations Plan to provide for an effective and coordinated response by the District to major emergencies and disasters. The plan establishes District wide emergency management policies and procedures and supports the plans of the San Diego County Office of Education and City of El Cajon.

A. Purpose

The purpose of this Emergency Operations Plan is to provide procedures, instructions, information, and guidelines necessary to allow the District to respond to emergencies and to resume normal operations and services as soon as possible following any disruption.

The plan outlines the emergency management organization and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) that will be responsible for managing emergencies.  All aspects of the plan take into consideration the District's commitment to meet the human needs of students and staff during and after unusual and stressful situations.

B. Objectives

The objectives of the Emergency Operations Plan are:

  1. Protect the safety and well-being of students, employees, and others who may be on site.
  2. Provide for a safe and coordinated response by employees to emergency situations.
  3. Protect and minimize damage to facilities and property.
  4. Enable the District to respond to emergencies and to return to normal operations   effectively and in the shortest time possible.

Of these objectives, protecting the safety and well-being of students, employees, and others who may be on site is fundamental and of the highest priority.
